What exactly is Jane's AI Scribe?
AI Scribe is a helpful, secure, and compliant scribe that lets you capture consent, record audio right from Jane (or upload a pre-recorded session), transcribe your session, and convert your conversation into a SOAP or custom-formatted note. How can I access AI Scribe?
The Account Owner can access AI Scribe immediately from the Settings area in your account. To learn more, check out this helpful guide.
How does recording in AI Scribe work?
You can either record a session right in Jane or upload an audio file to the chart. From there, AI Scribe sends it to a trusted, compliant third party to create your chart note. Before anything’s processed, you’ll just need to confirm that everyone involved has given their consent.
Does AI Scribe work with telehealth or remote calls?
At this time, AI Scribe is best used for in-person visits to ensure clear and accurate recordings. However, some users have found success using it for online appointments. If you're able to record both sides of the conversation clearly, you're welcome to upload it and give it a try — just note that online use hasn’t been extensively tested yet.
Is AI Scribe secure?
Yes! AI Scribe is fully HIPAA and PIPEDA compliant. We also follow a set of AI principles, including a promise to never use your data to train AI or share it with other clinics. You’re always in control of your audio files. Once you delete a recording, it’s removed from your account — and permanently wiped from our secure backups after a week.
Is AI Scribe available on all Jane plans?
AI Scribe is Jane’s first AI-powered feature, designed to support your charting and documentation workflow — saving you time and freeing up focus. It is an optional add-on for staff that includes unlimited notes and templates for $15 per user, per month. As you use the feature, we appreciate feedback that will help us continually improve and tailor the experience to your needs.
